Abstract

Taniajacoite is named after South African married couple Jacobus “Jaco” Stephanus Janse van Nieuwenhuizen and Tania Janse van Nieuwenhuizen. Jaco was born in Heidelberg in what was then the Transvaal Province, South Africa, and grew up on a farm located between Bethal and Middelburg. After completing high school at Höerskool Hendrina, he studied at Potchefstroom Agricultural College, graduating with a diploma in agriculture in 1994.
