Abstract

This chapter justified the book's selection of South AfricaSouth africa as a case studyCase study. It provided an overview of water resourcesWater resources in the Republic, stating its strategic water sources areas. The chapter also provided the energy landscape for the republic along coalCoaland renewable energyRenewable energy. Furthermore, the chapter gave an insight into the indigenousFood cropsfood cropsIndigenous food crops in South Africa. The chapter ended with the need for localization and decentralization of policies that will ensure ease of investment in the sector. Also, the chapter noted that given the competitiveCompetitiveworld economyWorld economy, the policies and investment should be in digital technologies in the WEF sectors, ensuring production efficiencyProduction efficiencyand administrative effectivenessAdministrative effectiveness, leading to a high return on investment.
