Abstract

Absiract-This paper exploits Visible Light Communi cation (VLC) concepts for comparing two lighting lamps using their intensity to the end users. Experimentally, under a room environment a 14W Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL) bulb and 4W Light Emitting Diode (LED) bulb are installed at different intervals in a room environment for lighting. Practically, a height of 2.1m is used for both lighting lamps and an Azimuth angle of 195" is recorded as the light is dispersed. TCS3200 color sensor and Oscilloscope is used for analytical purposes. We notice that the intensity of 4W LED bulb is mild when felt to users and it is user friendly compared to 14W CFL bulb for some period of time at an ON state. We recommend 4W LED bulb for home appliances because of its low-cost, not harmful to the users when lighting for a long period of time and friendly to the environment Research on the particular bulb to be use in a certain environment is necessary to avoid some damages when used wrongly.
