Abstract
Relationship between relative deprivation and militancy. In this research no statistically significant relationship between relative deprivation and militancy was established. However, those people who saw participation in militant protest activities as legitimate, occupied a higher class position, were younger and saw participation in decision making as being the most important aspect of their living conditions. These same categories of people tended to experience a high level of relative deprivation. The results indicated that a significant relationship between fratemalistic relative deprivation and militancy will be evident only when people experience a certain measure of politicization.
