Abstract

Thermal expansion and neutron diffraction measurements were carried out for a Cr-Pt alloy single crystal. Anomalous hysteresis behavior is observed in the temperature dependence of the magnetovolume and of the magnitude of the spin-density-wave (SDW) wave vector. The hysteresis effects in magnetovolume and wave vector seem to be related, but are not linked in theoretical models.
