Abstract

The paper presents unsteady Euler computations through non-matching and sliding-zone patched interfaces for three-dimensional problems. An interpolation scheme is devised at the interface which interpolates the flow variables regardless of the local grid topology. To reduce the computational overhead, an efficient search algorithm is constructed to find the interpolation weights. It is demonstrated numerically that the second order accuracy of the scheme is maintained despite the introduction of the interfaces. Numerical results for a propeller and a propeller-wing combination is finally presented.
