Abstract

As part of a systematic investigation for a number of PdII complexes in order to find correlations between molecular structure and chemical behaviour, crystals of the title compound, trans-[PdCl2(PPh 2Cy)2] or [PdCl2(C18H 21P)2], were prepared. The Pd atom is located on an inversion cneter. Selected geometrical parameters are: Pd-P 2.3256 (10) and Pd-Cl 2.3007 (11) Å, and P-Pd-Cl 91.38 (4)°. The effective and Tolman cone angles for the PPh2Cy ligand were determined as 151.0 and 154.6°, respectively.
