title = "Tool texturing and machinability of nickel-based superalloys-A review",
abstract = "Superalloys are high performance materials used in aerospace, chemical, scientific, and military applications. Machining of these alloys is challenging and to obtain better machinability, it is mandatory to follow some sustainable ways. This paper presents a review of work conducted on machinability of nickel-based superalloys and discusses the novel tool texturing for machinability enhancement of difficult-to-machine materials. It first presents an introduction of nickel-based superalloys, discusses some tool wear aspects, reviews some of the important literature which is then followed by a separate discussion on tool texture based machining. The aim of this paper is to facilitate researchers and scholars working in the field of advanced and sustainable machining of difficult-to-machine materials, and to promote future research and innovations to establish the field further.",
