Abstract

Artist Proof Studio (APS) as a democratic learning environment enables an Ubuntu space of teaching and learning printmaking through interconnectedness (Ubuntu is an African philosophy meaning I am through you). Printmaking is regarded as a democratic art medium due to its accessibility, collaboration, and affordability in its ability to generate multiples. APS through the promotion of printmaking supports livelihoods for students and graduates and promotes agency and expression for active citizenship.
