The petrogenesis of tabular granites of the western HU Sverdrupfjella, Dronning Maud Land, Antarctica: the influence of accessory phases

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The Jutulrora and Roerkulten Granites occur as sheet-like bodies. Mineralogically both granites are similar. Sampling across the sheets shows systematic variations of major and trace (including REE) elements. The REE distributions are mainly controlled by the accessory minerals allanite or titanite however, their effects are less than might be anticipated because of the low solubility of REE from xenocrystic allanite in the melts. -Author
