Abstract

A computer aided instruction (CAI) model is used to simulate field battles. This model requires that events comprising a field battle are to be ordered according to time. Reports on time observations made under operational conditions, are frequently vague and incomplete, making this sequencing difficult. This problem is solved by utilizing a time network algorithm, which transforms vague time references to more specific time values. The ordered events and other relevant information are entered into the database of a microcomputer system, which can then be used for instructional purposes.
