The dynamic of adult education: Implications for Nigerian mothers

Abstract

To date, high number of women who are mothers are still illiterate. This paper examined the significance and draw backs of adult education for young mothers within the globe with particular reference to Lagos State, Nigeria. Using the Nigerian Policy on Education as axis. Quantitative research method was employed. The main instrument used was a structured questionnaire that was analysed using Pearson product moment correlation and chi-square statistics to draw inferences. The study revealed that adult education is almost a neglect: Enrolment rate, drop out rate and academic performance are greatly affected. Remedies were proffered for salvaging the situation based on findings.
