Abstract
In recent years, market for carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and its products have experienced huge expansion owing to availability and large-scale production of CNTs and their products. This obtainability is leading to average price reduction thereby opening-up endless opportunities for possible new applications and several end users as compared to several years back. Today, there are several driving factors that are increasing the global demand for CNTs. These factors include, increasing need for light weight structural polymer composites and low carbon emitting vehicles; superior physical, chemical and mechanical properties; technological advancement in electronics and electricals, automobiles, and the need for renewable energies. In this chapter, the present-day markets for CNTs materials and products are extensively addressed with respect to the type, their application sectors, available and projected end users market, and their market in different regions across the globe. It was concluded that growing market for MWCNTs would continue to lead while applications in structural polymer composites with electronics and automobile end users' market would boost the CNTs market. Soon, extensive research and development (R&D) geared toward discovering new application areas for CNTs and development in CNTs manufacturing process such as growing zero defect CNTs and low-cost material design are expected to increase the demand for CNTs materials and products.
