Abstract
This article reports on the outcomes from a study that explored how an entrepreneurial approach to school financing can make a significant contribution to the way in which a school's resources are managed. Data regarding teachers' views of entrepreneurship in urban schools in the industrial heartland of South Africa was collected by means of a survey. For entrepreneurship to be successful in schools, it would require a paradigmatic shift in the thinking of school principals. Although they appear to have the ability to engage in entrepreneurial activities, they do not follow this option.
