Abstract

Chargedl Combining MeBABAR-Phos and methyl triflate affords an amino-stabilized phosphiranylium ion (see picture; C. gray, N blue, P orange), which undergoes various nucleophilic addition reactions to give P-substituted phosphiranes and an N-heterocyclic carbene stabilized phosphiranylium cation.
