Abstract

A novel composite, MIL-100(Fe)/SBA-15 (1), was synthesized with hydrothermal method using SBA-15 mesoporous silica and precursors of MIL-100(Fe) metal-organic framework. The composite 1 was characterized fully and used for adsorption of dye solutions, including methylene blue (MB), rhodamine B, methyl orange and alizarine yellow. The results revealed that the composite 1 adsorbed 100% of MB molecules in 1 min, which is significantly higher than adsorption ability of bare SBA-15 and MIL-100(Fe).
