Abstract
The design, mode of operation and limitations of static-subsynchronous-resonance (SSR) suppression filters are described. The effectiveness of these filters is evaluated by eigenvalue analyses using linearized mathematical models and transient simulations. Additional insight into their mode of operation is obtained from the fast Fourier transform of the transient response results.
