Abstract

The composition of access control specifications for use with mainframe access control packages, has long since presented problems in the commercial environment. The inept, ad hoc procedures followed in the past have exacerbated the state of affairs to a great extent. In this paper problems with regard to access control in the mainframe environment are discussed in general. A model proposing a structured approach for the generation of security profiles, is introduced.
