Abstract
The introduction of pedagogical and andragogic technologies in the learning process in educational settings imposes new instructional principles of differentiation in education. It creates an environment of a developed student's cognitive activity and a transition from learning to self-education. Educators are constantly looking for new ways to improve engagement with their students in developing their students' critical reasoning and critical thinking abilities. In achieving this, they go beyond traditional face-to-face traditional teaching and integrate student personalized learning needs in a do it 'yourself' approach. This article discusses an overview of the student-centered learning approach, its principles, and its elements. It concludes with methods of approach in improving student engagement in the learning environment.
