Abstract

This report demonstrates non-toxic synthesis of CIG (CuInGa) colloidal solution and their three and five times spin coating on SLG (Soda lime glass). The spin-coated unselenised (CIG/SLG) and selenised (CIGS/SLG) thin films thickness profile, UV–visible optical property and CIG/SLG, CIGS/SLG, CIGS/Mo/SLG thin films surface morphologies and EDS patterns are discussed in detail. Raman spectrums are also interpreted for the CIGS/SLG, CIGS/Mo/SLG thin films. It has found thickness (2.5–3.0 μm) of the CIG/SLG thin films is influenced from increasing number of spin coating times. An apparent enhancement in optical energy band gaps for the unselenised and selenised thin films has observed. A soupier grain growth has appeared for the selenised thin films. While EDS result demonstrates the elemental presence in these thin films compositions. A broad Raman peak for the CIGS/SLG thin films has observed at 173 cm−1, while CIGS/Mo/SLG at 173 and 242 cm−1.
