Abstract

One of the central issues in pro-poor tourism is the strengthening of intersectoral and local linkages. This is an issue of critical importance for tourism and poverty debates in the Global South. The chapter addresses the debates around the challenges of developing and enhancing tourism-poverty linkages. The linkages between tourism and agriculture are analyzed to highlight the significance of necessary interventions by national and local governments to enhance the prospects for pro-poor impacts.
