Southern Lights: Fluorescent Minerals from Southern Africa

Abstract

Southern Africa is defined here in a somewhat broad geographical context for a few selected countries south of the Equator. Some famous mineral localities are known to produce fluorescent minerals, particularly certain species from Tsumeb in Namibia and the Kalahari manganese field in South Africa.
