Abstract
Resistivity ρ(T), magnetoresistivity Δρ/ρ, and magnetic susceptibility χ(T) measurements on a single crystal of the non-magnetically ordered Kondo semimetal U2Ru2Sn are presented. The resistivity is highly anisotropic and yields band-gap values according to an activation-like description that differ by two orders of magnitude depending on the current direction. The temperature dependence of magnetoresistivity for both perpendicular arrangements (j∥c, B∥a, or j∥a, B∥c) renders the same behavior (Δρ/ρ positive with a peak near 25 K). In the longitudinal arrangement, j∥c∥B, the magnetoresistivity is much smaller and changes sign at the temperature of a knee in ρ(T) at 30K.
