title = "Security Margin Enhancement in Deregulated Power System Implementing TCSC",
abstract = "Efficient and secure operation of any power system solely depends on the balance between power generation and delivery of energy to customers in an optimal way, especially in competitive deregulated electricity markets. To ensure system reliability, it is necessary to avoid complications in voltage profile, power losses, and system security margin due to the congestion in the system. This paper presents a method to implement multiple flexible alternating current transmission systems (FACTS) in the pool electricity market for reducing voltage deviation and enhancement of the security margin of the system. The location of FACTS being determined with the help of line utilization factor (LUF) and disparity line utilization factor (DLUF) as sensitivity factor while the parameter setting of FACTS is done with the help of hybrid grey wolf particle swarm optimization (HGWPSO) algorithm. The obtained results are compared with the well-established algorithms. The results for the present research work are validated through modeling and simulation on standard IEEE 30 bus systems.",
