Abstract

Objective: This research aimed to investigate the relationship between exposure to violent media contents and aggressive behaviour among in-school adolescents. Method: The study adopted a correlational research design. The study respondents were 603 in-school adolescents. Selfreport questionnaires were used for data collection (Violent Media Contents Questionnaire and In-School Adolescents' Aggressive Behaviour Questionnaire). The data collected were interpreted using simple linear regression statistics. Results: The results indicated that there is a statistically significant relationship between exposure to violent media contents and aggressive behaviour among in-school adolescents, R2 =.67, F(1, 602) = 1232.849, β = .82, p < .001. Conclusion: Schooling adolescents should be given proper and adequate guidance on media content use to enable them to overcome the negative consequences of excessive exposure such as aggression.
