Abstract

Rehabilitation is about enabling others with needs associated with disability or disadvantage to access resources for health and wellbeing that are used by typical others. There is the presumption with rehabilitation services that functioning or participation is disrupted by some physical (or medical) and/or social event necessitating corrective intervention to enable activity and participation in typical or preferred environments by those affected. Unmet rehabilitation needs may lead to exclusion from the community, poor health, dependency, and decrease in life quality of those with disability or disadvantage.
