Abstract
More than four decades ago Ali Mazrui first met Kwame Nkrumah in New York City. At the time Nkrumah was the rising political star in Africa and Ali Mazrui a rising academic star in Africa. On the centenary of the birth of Nkrumah, this short essay looks not at Nkrumah himself but at one consequential academic article by Ali Mazrui with regard to Nkrumah.
