Quality of integration in mixed methods research: a study of mental health in Türkiye

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Although the integration of diverse methods is a core component of mixed methods research (MMR), there remains a critical need to enhance our understanding of the quality of the integration process in this field. This study aims to evaluate the MMR conducted in the field of mental health in Türkiye between 2020 and 2024, with a particular focus on mixing. We employed a fully integrated systematic review approach, identifying 52 postgraduate theses and articles and using the PRISMA method. We conducted content analysis using Creamer’s (2020) Mixed Methods Evaluation Rubric. In conclusion, the study provides valuable insights that contribute to a deeper understanding of the MMR literature and underscore the importance of improving the integration process in future research.
