Abstract
Field proven, general purpose, self tuning, adaptive controllers have only been available for a few years. Application of the new technology in yarn tunnel control is discussed. Emphasis is placed on adaptive feedforward control as an important tool for the compensation of measurable disturbances. The use of the ASEA Novatune adaptive controller has provided more efficient plant control and improved the plant performance.
