Abstract

—The mixed population of semWfuII-autonomous and conventional vehicles on the roads originates a heterogeneous network with moving nodes. Therefore, it is worth to explore the potential frameworks and challenges for the implementation of next generation Internet- of -Vehicles (IoVs) networks. In this paper, we have presented the potential frameworks of IoVs network for heterogeneous environment. Further, various simulation tools for mimicking and analyzing the IoVs network are presented and compared on the bases of their performance. Moreover, the key challenges for the implementation of IoVs networks except the challenges faced by conventional wireless ad-hoc networks are illustrated.
