Political Violence in Isuokoma Clan, 2007-2019

Abstract

The chapter is a case study of political violence in Isuokoma clan. It traced the origin of the people and their political history. The chapter reveals that electoral malpractice, godfatherism and struggle for power, illiteracy, poverty, unemployment, clash of interest and corruption were the major causes of political violence in the area. The study presents the social, economic, political and security impact of electoral violence in Isuokoma. Finally, it recommends strategies for the enthronement of peaceful political process in Isuokoma.
