Phase controlled AC-DC converter

Research output: Contribution to specialist publicationArticle

Abstract

A scheme is developed in which control of the phase of the fundamental AC current component in force-commutated PWN-driven AC-DC converters is used to control the DC-link voltage. By employing the phase control method, the converter can be employed for dynamic compensation and the current waveform can be controlled to compensate for distortion currents in a system in the conventional manner.
