Perception of Quality in Higher Education Institutions: A Logical View from the Literature

Abstract

The hearty increase in population globally has impelled the educational sector to ensure they remained uncensored in the globalization trend, and to remain competitive. This study surveyed how quality is being viewed from higher education institutions context and examined deeply the operational meaning of quality in higher education institutions. The paper examined various total quality management concepts in some selected Sub-Sahara African countries and discussed the performance management techniques adopted to enhance their educational standard. Quality in higher education institutions was conceptualized in his study and various relevant and commonly used quality constructs were studied.
