Abstract

The modification of ZnIn2S4 with poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) was investigated by coupling the hole conductor property of PEDOT. After 180 min reaction, the total organic carbon (TOC) removal rates of 38%, 45%, 42% and 31% were achieved by 0.02, 0.05, 0.1 and 0.2 mL PEDOT modified ZIS, respectively, which were higher than pristine ZIS of 24%. The obvious quenching of fluorescence was observed for PEDOT-ZIS sample, suggesting that the recombination of electron-hole pairs was suppressed comparing with pristine ZIS. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) results implied the separation and transfer of photo-generated electrons and holes was much easier over PEDOT-ZIS hybrid photocatalyst.
