Abstract
The diverse arguments presented throughout the chapters of this book illustrate a multifaceted and intricate landscape of higher education in South Africa. These discussions highlight the ongoing struggle to transform the higher education sector, revealing the complexity and depth of this transformative process within a decolonial paradigm. Central to this discourse is the effort to dismantle lingering colonial legacies and foster a more inclusive, equitable, and Afrocentric educational environment (Jansen, 2017). The book delves into various initiatives aimed at achieving this goal, showcasing the breadth of strategies employed by different stakeholders to challenge and change entrenched systems. The chapters collectively emphasise the importance of understanding the historical context and the persistent influence of colonialism on current educational practices and policies.
