Abstract
A neutron-diffraction study has been performed on a Cr-Ga alloy single crystal containing 0.88 at. % Ga. Well-defined anomalies were observed in the integrated neutron intensities at the spin-flip as well as at the incommensurate-commensurate spin-density-wave magnetic phase-transition temperatures Tsf and TIC, respectively. Unusually strong spin-fluctuation effects persist in the crystal to temperatures well above the Néel point. The neutron-diffraction results enhance previous arguments to solve a reported discrepancy between the calculated and directly measured signs of the pressure derivative of TIC.
