Abstract

A magneto-elastic anomaly at 243 K, previously ascribed to the incommensurate to commensurate phase transition, in a Cr + 1.9 at% Fe alloy single crystal has now been identified as being related to the stabilization of the wave vector to a constant value over an extended temperature region within the incommensurate phase.
