Abstract
Nano-materials (NMs) and nano-technology (NT) are some of the most amazing things that have happened in science, technology, and business in the lastfew years. They let us make materials that can do many things. Nanotechnology has also been materially advanced by various industrial sectors, encompassing quantum confinement, enhanced surface area-to-volume ratios, and properties that are tunable optically, mechanically, and electronically. This chapter provides a comprehensive history of the growth of nanoscience and nanotechnology, with a focus on the types and properties of (NMs). The possible uses of NMs were discussed, with a focus on how nanotechnology can benefit the economy and society in the construction and manufacturing industries. Information and communication technologies, sustainable energy, ballasting technology, environmental sustainability, health, and medical uses. The problems and chances that NMs and NT present were also discussed.
