Abstract

Polymer blends (P-Bs) reinforced with carbon fibers (CFs) are recognized as an emerging class of high-performance materials with a range of applications in different fields, such as aviation, automotive, maritime, and manufacturing of sports equipment. Polymer blends/CFs have gained popularity as replacement of conventional materials due to their features and attractive properties, which include excellent strength and low specific weight. Their easy processability affords fine tuning of the resulting properties for intended application, and high fatigue, toughness, high temperature wear, and excellent chemical resistance make them materials of choice for advanced applications. Herein, the morphology, rheology, and applications of P-Bs/CFs are discussed.
