Abstract

This paper proposes a model for land based tracking system of radioactive cargo in sea transport. The proposed model is conceived upon the system deployed in road transport and storage areas in USA (United States of America) during the first decade of the 21st century. It is based on RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology at the bottom and distributed ladder technology on the top of the supply chain. Even though the model is presented at high level of abstraction, it can open further discussion among academics and professionals in terms of unpacking existing solutions and enabling their improvements.
