Abstract

In this paper, the effects of shorting pin on resonant frequency of the gap-coupled circular microstrip patch antennas is presented. The effects of location of shorting pin and variations of its diameter as well as the effect of variation of gap distance between adjacent edges of the feed patch and parasitic patch of gap-coupled circular microstrip patch antennas on the resonant frequency is simulated. This simulation has been performed by using commercially available IE3D simulator which is based on the method-of-moment.
