Abstract

An extraction procedure for transferring metal ions from pulp into the aqueous phase was developed and the metal contents analyzed by ICP-AES. The extraction is based on the use of complexing agents. The recoveries are promising, except for trivalent cations (Al, Fe) and Cu. The on-line aspects for the continuous analysis of metal ions in pulps are discussed.
