Magnetic and electrical transport studies of Ce8 Pd24 Alx

Abstract

Resistivity measurements show Kondo-lattice behaviour for Ce8 Pd24 Alx alloys with 0.2 {less-than or slanted equal to} x {less-than or slanted equal to} 1.3. At low temperatures magnetic susceptibility studies indicate antiferromagnetic ordering for alloys with 0.96 {less-than or slanted equal to} x {less-than or slanted equal to} 2. Magnetoresistivity studies are interpreted in terms of the Schlottmann description for a Kondo impurity system.
