Abstract

This chapter presents climate change impacts in Africa, and discusses the salient content and key developments in climate change adaptation, resilience and policy action in Africa. Against this backdrop, it provides chapter summaries reflecting climate impacts, adaption and resilience measures implemented in the face of practical challenges (social, economic, political) from West, East and Southern Africa. The chapter highlights the importance of localised measures in addressing climate change owing to the inherent heterogeneous conditions in countries across the continent.
