Abstract

In this chapter, we present an overall description of various development techniques of drug delivery applications, which are emphasized in the book. The outlines of the basic research strategies, which could be employed to achieve the potential drug delivery, are also highlighted. This book will be beneficial for university professors, researchers, under-graduate and post-graduate students, and scientists to find the efficient, reliable, and highly versatile approach for the synthesis of different drug delivery systems associated with diversity-oriented strategies, structure–activity studies, and molecular tailoring. The chapter also covers the recent advances in the development of novel drug delivery devices for instance, supramolecular hydrogels, hybrid aerogels, porous metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), polymer based-platforms, different types of bio-nano materials, etc. toward their potential applications in controlled drug delivery.
