Abstract

The introduction provides an overview of the key concepts discussed in this handbook. This handbook offers in-depth, up to date and expert-validated literature on issues related to field work education and its challenges across the globe, at a time when social work education, training and professional practice across the globe is in a state of transition and facing several challenges of lack of professional recognition and accreditation. The chapters provide cross-national perspectives on how social work field practicum is practiced and taught in different parts of the world, what are the innovative practices, what are the challenges faced by social work field education and how they are addressed in countries across the globe.
