Abstract

The concept of cooperative enterprise is a potentially effective intervention for eradicating poverty and merging the first and second economy of South Africa. This paper shows the importance of ensuring integrated implementation of cooperative principles and values within the cooperative enterprise. To ensure effectiveness and efficiency in cooperative enterprises, the principles and values must be integrated with the elements of Total Quality Management (TQM). With this realization, cooperative enterprises can serve their reason of existence in the county.
