Abstract
The coding schemes based on the convolution coding, capable of correcting insertions/deletions as well as reversal (additive) errors, were presented. The reversal error rates (RER) were studied against the bit error rate (BER) after decoding on a binary symmetric channel (BSC). The analysis showed that the deletion error rate (DER) for the reversal, insertion and deletion (RID) channel was 10-2 ≤ d ≤ 3.2 × 10-1.
