Abstract

This paper discusses the simple analytical approach to study the gain-frequency characteristics of the azimuthally periodic vane-loaded cylindrical waveguide interaction structure for the gyro-TWT amplifiers. The azimuthal harmonic effects arise due to the angular periodicity of the vanes have taken into consideration in the derivation of both the cold and hot dispersion relations of the vane-loaded gyro-TWT and, hence, the device gain has been predicted. Thus, results obtained by this approach have been compared with those of others available in the literature.
