Abstract

A Hammett reaction constant ρ ⁺ of -0.60 has been determined for the styrene addition of H₃C-P-W(C-O)₅, as generated from the appropriate 7-phosphanorbornadlene complex. The anti-l syn-phosphirane product ratio is ca. 4.
